Missions

Missions is the heart beat of our church

God calls us to go and make disciples.
Missions always start at home, it's here where we gain credibility, and learn the skills required to reach a dying world. Our support reaches the nations of the world. From Australia to Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Sri-Lanka, Mauritius, Sudan and not forgetting a number of itinerant Evangelists in this country to the Aboriginals and beyond.

Let me encourage you in your continued giving to missions, there's much to be done.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?" As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things! - Romans 10:14-15

Some time ago I watched a documentary on Angkor Watt and marvelled at the skills and intelligence required to build this incredible temple complex.  At the same time it caused me to reflect on the magnitude of what had happened during Pol Pot's regime, when almost anyone with an education, professionals and people with connections to foreign governments, were brutally executed, thus leaving a nation completely destitute.

Michele Perry founded the Yei children’s Village, a compound which now houses more than 90 children and thirty leaders and staff in 2006. Yei is little more than a collection of dirt roads and shacks. The children’s village and its Primary School are like an oasis in an area that has been impacted by prolonged war.

The children at Yei experience a family dynamic with house mamas in a community setting. As a Church we have been involved primarily in the financing of “houses” in the Yei village compound and the annual Christmas Party.

The year has started with a National Prayer Conference for Pastors and Leaders from around Southern Sudan being held at Yei. One hundred unexpected children turned up for lunch one day at the conference and God multiplied the food!!

The children have their own church and this year Beida, one of the children, preached her first sermon.
